This site was made with a wintel PC.

Mac and PC system colors differ. This means that a given
pixel with a certain hue, saturation and brightness doesn't look
the same on a Mac and a PC. This should be considered
when publishing high quality scans on the net. As far as I
know the only way to solve the problem is to publish two
versions, one for Mac and one for PC. If you don't split you
have to make a choice.

The picture below looks o.k. on a Mac but it looks
dark on a PC. In the same way all the other paintings on
this site look light on a Mac.

March 4 2003: Since I wrote this a new image file type was
developed that corrects the platform differences: the PNG file
format. I'm considering to replace all my images.
